Original early production Model 60 stool.
Designed by Alvar Aalto in 1934, made in Finland Ltd, distributed in the UK by Finmar. Now very hard to find.
Finmar ivorine label to the underside. Solid bent birch legs, sawn to create the bend. Birch seat with veneer edge trim and finger joins only found on the early versions.
Provenance: From the estate of a famous London based milliner. Purchased from Heals London pre-World War 2. Details of provenance will be provided.
Original condition - Great depth of colour to the wood only achievable after almost 100 years of use. Signs of age and use as pictured. Small area of loss to the underside, not visible unless turned upside down, see last 3 pics.
